Internet Explorer 7 (and above )with multiple session

Posted on 2:21 AM by Al-Ghozali

Some of us might have more than one gmail account or yahoo account. Have anybody noticed that when you want to open both (or more) of your gmail account simultaneously, you only can open one at a time?

Why is this happen? Well, the answer is; Internet explorer shares the same SESSION even though you had open a new window. Yes, it have pro and cons but that is not what we are looking at here. What we want is how to enable you to use Internet Explorer and still be able to use multiple login to your sites/account.

There are two ways of doing it;
i. From current viewing window

  1. On the Internet Explorer toolbar, click on File > New Session
  2. Then you'll get a new open Internet Explorer browser with totally fresh new session.
    Easy isn't it :-)? But you have to do it every time you need to use dedicated session on opened Internet Explorer browser.

ii. From the shortcut
  1. Right click on any of your Internet Explorer shortcut, and select Properties.

  2. On the Target field, add -nomerge at the end of the existing command. Refer to picture below to get a clear picture where to add.

  3. To save your settings, just click button OK. Even though you just set for one shortcut, that changes will be apply to all the Internet Explorer shortcut

I prefer the second method since i use a lot of multiple login on my web application development. You might just need first method, but i hope above info will be helpfull for you in the explained situation.
